South Gippsland's Community String Ensemble
Welcome to the home of Stringz Costero. South Gippsland and Bass Coast's own community strings ensemble.
We are a group of enthusiastic strings players that meet weekly in Inverloch and enjoy playing a wide range of music from early renaissance, baroque, classical to current arrangements and original compositions.
We cater for players of varying standards from beginner to professional, while aiming for a high standard of musicianship.
We perform in 2 major concert programs each year; Winter and in Spring. The programs often includes a Concerto Grosso, as well as interesting rarely played works and some contemporary and original arrangements.
The weekly practices give members an opportunity to leave their regular work and responsibilities behind for a short while and enjoy the benefits of music making together. And we always finish each session with supper.

A New Beginning for Stringz in 2019
Its time to dust off our violins, violas, cellos and basses. Practices will start again on February 6th at 7.30pm. We are launching into a brand new repertoire which will include some well known composers such as Telemann and Grieg and some lessor known Baroque composers including Locatelli and Gossec and Rameau. We will also be exploring some beautiful Scottish Airs.
We are planning a performance mid year with piano soloist Sarah Bouquet. Sarah will play Finzi's beautiful Eclogue for Piano and Strings.
We are particularly short of violin players at present and are hoping to find a few more to make our mid year concert a success. Sheet music will be available at our first practice for the year.
If you are considering playing with us you are welcome to call in at the Anglican Church in Inverloch on Wednesday evenings at 7.30pm. Come and have a chat and see what we do.
